Welcome has over 17 years’ experience in the financial services sector in both Zimbabwe and Botswana, having started his career with the AfrAsia Kingdom Group in 1998 as a Trainee Investment Analyst. He then held various positions within the group, in particular the asset management division where he spent over ten years and rose through the various ranks to the position of Executive Director and Head of Portfolio Management before moving to the group's Botswana-based off-shore banking associate in charge of risk, compliance and corporate advisory.
Over the years, Welcome has gained considerable experience in economic analysis, forecasting, company analysis and valuations (both listed and non-listed), fixed income analysis and trading, property investments, corporate advisory, trading/dealing and portfolio management. He has also led the implementation of various projects, notably the development of a customized IT system for the asset management unit and the implementation of the MasterCard project and setting up card division at the offshore banking unit in Botswana.
A CFA Charterholder, Welcome graduated with a Bachelor of Business Studies, Honours Degree from the University of Zimbabwe in 1997. He is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (CIS). He is currently pursuing studies towards the CIPM qualification and lectures part-time in the Financial Engineering Degree Program at the Harare Institute of Technology.

He has a wealth of experience and expertise in mining, agro-processing and FMCG sectors within Sub-Sahara African markets and has a keen interest in the primary and secondary industrial sectors where manufacturing processes are integral to business’ value chain systems.

Owen has over 5 years’ experience in investment consulting, capital markets research and advisory. He has been involved in research and advisory for a number of ZSE-listed and non-listed companies with a focus on the technology, tourism & hospitality, mining, FMCG and financial services sectors. Owen holds a Bachelor of Technology (Honours) Degree in Financial Engineering from the Harare Institute of Technology and is currently studying towards Chartered Alternative Investments Analyst (CAIA) and CFA certifications.
